The crowd goes quiet

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I’ve spent the past two weeks working for Kaufman Films in Tribeca, and while the money is nice, there is very little opportunity for downtime a.k.a. blogging. When I arrived a little over 2 weeks ago, I was buying bubble wrap and packing boxes in anticipation for their move to new office space. Since then, I’ve introduced them to Basecamp for project management, and Highrise for contact management and leads. I also got to shoot a webisode for their Allure Magazine contract, and will be shooting for Paul McGuire’s personal project.

I managed to score an invite to Streamy and I have to say it is everything that people say it is AND MORE. The interface and design is stunning, and it is just chock full of useful features. One thing I will say before I release my full review is that this is not, repeat, NOT a digg killer. After 3 days of playing around with the site, I can confidently say that they aren’t even competing in the same arena. That said, Streamy will very shortly conquer the niche that they are creating. On a side note, I was incredibly impressed by Streamy creator Jonathan Gray’s attentiveness to the blogosphere. I received my invite within hours of my Beta invite liquidation post, where I commented at the bottom

p.s. Could somebody please send me an invite to Streamy?? I’ll trade my first born. Can’t promise gender at this point, but with genetics progressing the way it is, I’ll let you choose.

Upon logging in, Jonathan messaged me, and then linked me to my post from within Streamy. Needless to say, I was blown away. That kind of user attention will get them everywhere in this increasingly anonymous world of start-ups and faceless companies.

So I guess I better get around to making that first born…..
