Maybe it’s because I know that if I don’t make this publicly available, I’m just going to continue tweaking it and never launch. Maybe it’s because I haven’t posted anything interesting here in weeks as a result of some work overload, or maybe it’s because it’s my birthday and I felt like doing something different.
The “listless” redesign is currently at a stable point where almost all the features are in place, and the design is somewhat consistent. Now, before your very eyes, I will dial in features across the site until I think that it is “complete.” This includes imagery, placement, relationships, and color. Nothing is sacred.
Call it an experiment or a mistake, it will be different. And hey, here’s what I’ve been building.
Task list:
- Test in Internet Explorer
- Style the lifestream on the “about” page
- Style the page navigation in the archives
- Organize and optimize the CSS and JS
- All kinds of other things…

Niiiiiice, Eli! Congratulations! Love your archives!
BTW, your virb link is relative, so it’s broken.
Thanks, Chaz. I fixed it. I was missing a slash in the http://. Weird that it still loaded the virb site, but without any styles.
Hi Eli,
I really liked your old blog design and was wondering if there was any chance of obtaining your old WP theme? I was planning to borrow some ideas from it - I really liked the plain and simple layout and how you handled displaying the tags - but I guess I came back too late for a second look as you’ve already redesigned the site.
So I wanted to ask if it’s possible to obtain the WP theme files from you. It won’t be a blatant copy of your old theme. In fact, I’m planning to try a different blog system and will be re-coding things to match my needs. I just don’t want to start from scratch.
Anyway, just wanted to try asking :)
Thanks!
