With chaz’s helpful comments guiding me along, I finished coverting page 1 of the “fleur” redesign into html. At around 2:30 in the morning, my “recent comments” and “recent posts” were almost 100% functional in wordpress.
Today I plan to tackle:
- livesearch
- page 2’s custom comments
- digg rss feed
I’m realzing as I go through this process that there really is a lot to consider when you are doing wp-themes from scratch. There are so many template tags which can automate things. And then on top of that, there are plug-ins that pickup where the tags left off. Considering that its taken me so damn long to get this thing out the door, I’m going to bring it to basic completion, and then do live edits with tiny tweaks to the code.
