Since Scripps has a ton of brands (Food Network, HGTV, Fine Living, etc…), we tend to get a ton of schwag floating around the office. I’ve got a super sweet HGTV visor on my monitor which will never see the light of day, and assorted random magnets on my fridge. But today, I got something that really made me happy.

WordPress Stickers!

The company recently decided to move all of its blogs from MovableType over to (my favorite) WordPress. Since I have “some” experience with WP, I’ve pretty much been designated the go-to guy for theming and plugin stuff (along with friend and co-worker Jonathan). My liaison over at Ops was on the phone with the Automattic Team because of our support contract and decided to try his luck by asking for some WP schwag. A couple days later, a mysterious envelope arrived. Stuffed with WordPress stickers! I got three of them, although I’m not quite sure where I’ll put them just yet.

Score!

  1. I was hanging out with Matt the other night. He’s such a nice guy.

I’ll tell you though… He plays a mean game of Wii Tennis. Do NOT challenge him.

  2. Dude, seriously? That’s pretty rad. Where was this?

  3. You’d probably love to know that Liz Danzico, who did the IA redesign of the current wordpress upgrade sits right in front of me in my office.

  4. I’m a huge Liz Danzico fan! I think that the WP2.5 upgrade was amazing and much needed. I was actually just thinking how since I’ve relegated my design work to weekends and after-hours, I might as well learn a little about information architecture.

I guess at the end of the day I’m just obsessed with organizing things.

Do you work out of the Happy Cog offices?

  5. Nope, out of a collaborative workspace in DUMBO. Come by sometime!

  7. Man… sooo jealous… I sometimes think that I am the only person in this entire state that even knows what WP is… [frown]

  8. @todd - considering that you are coming out of Biloxi, you might be right, haha.

Time to prothelitize to your fellow citizens the beauty of WP!

  9. [...] Little. If you are considering a blog of your own, take a good look at WordPress. I want some like Eli Horne in the below [...]
